One size doesn't fit all

We all have our insecurities.

It’s just a fact of life that we as human beings have to come to terms with. There will always be something that we feel we need to improve on whether it be physical or characteristic. I’m gonna break down a lil bit of truths for you and shed some light on the body positivity movement i’m trying to spread.

CONFIDENCE

and why you don’t need it shooting out your ass to do boudoir

When I read your comments or ask women who inquire about why they haven’t done a session, the number one answer is always CONFIDENCE. It’s completely understandable and I can guarantee that at one point, I was in your shoes as well. The beauty of boudoir, however, is awakening the inner confidence you never knew you had. If you’re teetering about if you should or shouldn’t do it, I strongly encourage you to be brave and just GO for it! It may be one of the best things you could do for yourself.

For example, when I started my business, I had no idea what the hell I was doing. I just decided I was done being miserable with my day to day activities and not having anything for ME (one of the negatives of being a mom I think is devoting everything you have to your family and leaving nothing for yourself). I’m not lying when I tell you that I was spiraling into depression because I had nothing that was exclusively MINE that I truly ENJOYED. Doing this for myself has been the most stressful yet rewarding learning experiences I’ve come across. I’ll be honest, I’m still kinda winging it and learning as I go but the fact that I just let go of my fears and went for it makes me so, so proud of myself.

You do not need to be a certain size to do boudoir. You do not need to be a certain shape, color, age or whatever else you can think of, to do boudoir. This is not just getting beautiful images, but it’s about the experience of doing something for YOURSELF that you can look back and be proud of! You can be proud of the fact you reached a goal and treated yourself, maybe you want to celebrate your pregnant body in a special way or show yourself that you are still amazing and worthy with your new momma bod or you just need it for your well being, even if it scares the shit out of you. Boudoir is about self empowerment, embracing all of your flaws and CHOOSING to learn to love them. It’s seriously such an amazing experience, even for me as the photographer, to see the confidence building in client’s as we continue through their session. So no, you DON’T need your cup over flowing with confidence to do this, but just enough self love to push yourself to do this and remind yourself that you are a goddess and you deserve this!

What’s something you’ve done that has scared the shit out of you but you’re so proud of yourself that you went and did it anyways?! I’d love to hear your stories ❤️
